Chase Community Fund
About Us
The Chase Community Fund was launched in March 2010 as the Cannock Community Fund to build up a lasting endowment for the area of Cannock Chase. In June of 2010 it's name was changed to the Chase Community Fund, to more accurately describe the area of benefit. The fund was started with a single donation from a private donor of nearly £2000.

The idea of the fund is to encourage business, enterprises and individuals to donate to a central fund. All the money raised will be invested according to Charity Commission guidelines to enable the fund to grow in value. The interest earned on the fund will be split, part of it added to the fund and reinvested so that it continues to grow, year on year. The other part of the interest will be used to create a grants scheme specifically for third sector, charity and voluntary organisations in the Cannock Chase area. Grants can then be given out year on year and the fund will continue to grow to give out more each year.

The fund received it's official public launch at an event held on Friday 30th September 2011 at the Bridgtown Community Centre, on the Ramada Hotel complex in Norton Canes. Attended by local dignitaries and business people, it proved to be a success, not only gaining public backing, but also by raising money for the fund itself.

There will be fundraising events and competitions held to ensure that people are aware of the fund and the benefit it is trying to bring.

The first person to donate at the launch was Aidan Burley, MP. He has an evening on the terrace of the House of Commons for approximately 200 people and has very graciously donated this to raise money for the Chase Community Fund.
