Many solicitors and fund advisors have a difficult and fine line to walk. They need to ensure that they are always acting in the interests of the fund, even if it is not necessarily in the interest of themselves.

Companies and businesses often receive many letters asking for donations or financial assistance. This is likewise a difficult path to tread, as they need to ensure they are seen to be helping the community, but may not be able to deal with all enquiries.

SCF is ideal for banks, financial advisors, solicitors and accountants with clients wishing to give, but are reluctant to recommend specific charities to clients for reasons of impartiality. SCF supports a wide variety of local community activity you can recommend with a clear professional conscience.

In addition, as the Staffordshire Community Foundation can invest many funds at one time, we often benefit from preferrential rates and greater returns.

This means that it is easier for solicitors and other fund managers to recommend the Foundation, especially when the welfare of the fund is the primary concern.
Many companies want to support their local communties but do not have the time, staff, or expertise to handle the many charitable appeals they receive

By setting up a fund within the Foundation, the company maintains direct control of where their funds go and receives full recognition for all donations made. Such a relationship takes away the administrative burden of giving and leaves the company confident that donations are applied to best effect

All appeal letters are handled by the Foundation, so your company will never have to say no again; if the appeal does not meet our criteria, the Foundation can look for support from another fund under its management. All applications are assessed, many are visited and all projects put forward for funding have the full approval of the Foundation's Trustees who are legally responsible for funds held within the Foundation.
